Romantic relationship in adolescence
Beníčková, Tereza ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Morávková Krejčová, Lenka (referee)
Adolescence is a period in which first romantic relationships are being formed. Those are important for the development of an adolescent in many areas - for example their identity, family relationships and relationships with friends. In the presence of this phenomenon in adolescent population, research shows that a considerable percentage of people has an experience with a romantic relationship as early adolescent individuals and it's occurrence and length increases with aging. Of course differences appear between adolescent individuals, depending on their ethnocultural nationality. An integral part of a romantic relationship between adolescents is sexuality in all its aspects. The options of expressing it, however, depends on the culture the adolescent lives in. In a part of research proposal I present a project which would mostly compare the Czech and Vietnamese adolescent population...

The second chapter explores the psychological notion of commitment and selected psychological theories of commitment. The third chapter captures the emphasis of the Roman Catholic Church on strengthening the couples' commitment in the period from engagement to the wedding ceremony. The time of engagement is a transitional period, during which a person needs to prepare to abandon their existing social position and accept a new one (from single life to the life of a husband/wife). The social environment, which the individual is a part of, comes into forefront during that time. The Catholics put stress on using this time to dutifully consider whether the engaged couple wants to accept the sacrament of marriage. It is important to note that there are attractive and repellent forces at work in each romantic relationship, which determine its quality and...
